Debra Alfarone is a Murrow award-winning television Anchor, whose live reports and features can be seen on WUSA9, the CBS station in the nation’s capital, Washington D.C. Before that, Debra reported in the number one market, New York City, for PIX 11 News, realizing a dream to work for her hometown station. Prior to that, she greeted viewers every morning at NBC Connecticut, where she worked as a morning live shot reporter.

Debra has a conversational, creative and street-smart style of storytelling – you know a “Debra” story when you see one. Debra is also a highly-sought-after public speaker. Her 2015 TEDx Talk entitled “The Secret I Held My Whole Life – And How Changing 3 Words Set Me Free” inspires and empowers people to consider how the ‘labels’ they wear, consciously or subconsciously, may be holding them back.

Debra speaks at and emcees events for non-profits and organizations that strive to make life better, including Habitat for Humanity, Dreams for Kids DC, Mentors Inc., FAIR Girls, DC SAFE, Changing Perceptions, and the Charles County Correctional Center.
